Do You Know Why These Dates Are Important?
October 15th- December 7th: Open Enrollment begins! During open enrollment you can change your Medicare Plan or Prescription Drug Plan for the next year. You may also switch from Original Medicare to Medicare Advantage or vice versa.
Jan 1st: New Medicare Coverage begins if you made a change.
If not, your coverage will stay the same.
Jan 1st- March 31st: This date is important if you currently have Medicare Advantage coverage. During this time you can switch Medicare Advantage plans, go back to Original Medicare and choose a Prescription Drug plan to go along with it. You can only change advantage plans once during this time.
Initial Enrollment Period- 3 Months before your birthday, the month of your birthday, and 3 months after your birthday
